About
Where do I start?
My little story begins in 1992 when I got my hands on my very own personal computer. It truly was love at first click. I spent the majority of my time learning DOS commands and fine tuning my autoexec.bat file. One could safely say that I was paving the road to becoming a full blown programmer, that is until a discovered small little life altering application named Paintbrush.
Sprites and logos and icons! Oh, my! Digital artwork had just put the kibosh on my dreams of programming and I soon found myself entrenched in the world of design. Every new application or technique that found it’s way into my life was welcomed with open arms. Man, I would have killed for Google back in those days.
Fast forward 17 years… Wow, quite a bit has happened. This “internet” thing has really taken off. I now do my own banking, print out my own boarding passes, even scan and bag my own groceries!? Thanks a lot internet, you’ve just made my life way more complicated. There is one thing that hasn’t changed over the years, my love for design. I see it everywhere I go, wondering what other designers were thinking. Why does Target ask me if I want my purchase all on one card? Do the majority of people need that extra step? Is the economy that bad??? OH NO!
So my job hasn’t gotten easier. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Social interaction, rich media, mobile devices. These are all new additions to my daily routine. The days of putting your printed materials online have screeched to a halt. Users are demanding more and getting exactly that. Technology has caught up with creativity and it’s my job to stay ahead of the pack. Why? You may ask. This is simply what I love to do.
